The North Harbour Parish OPEN MIC NIGHTS are held once a month on a Friday evening. Commencing at 7.30pm be prepared to be amazed and inspired by performers young and old. All are welcome to attend and all are welcome to perform! BYO food and beverages and settle in for a night which gives everyone the opportunity to share their gifts and talents.

ALL ACTS MUST REGISTER or there is no guaruntee of getting a spot, so get in early! You can be involved in more than one act or register to perform more than one song yourself, but depending on numbers you may be forced to choose which you’d like to perform more.

Doors open at 7pm to give guests a chance to set up a table with their wine and cheese and whatever else they bring to snack on. Particularly if you're performing its a good idea to get there early to unpack your instrument etc. The first act will commence at 7.30pm SHARP.

So SORT YOURSELF OUT…don’t miss out on a great chance to perform. Or even just to have a night of entertainment.

The idea is to offer performance opportunities and experience to those wanting to share their musical talent. Anyone is welcome to perform and all are encouraged to perform. As you'll see from the pictures there is no age range and people are encouraged to get together with other musicians they may have never played with before and form a group.

There are many talented guitarists, pianists, instrumentalists and vocalists within the parish.

So if there’s a song you want to do….find people to do it with you…and if you don’t know where to look or who to ask…I can point you in the right direction.

I can also help you find music on the internet or if you’re struggling to get something together.

Examples of an act might include…

- Performing a song with guitar and voice?

- Performing a song with a band?

- Performing a song with a backing track?

- Performing a solo instrumental piece (maybe on trumpet, sax, violin, piano etc.)

- Performing a cappella

- Performing an original composition

- A dance act

- Stand up comedy! 

These are just some suggestions which may trigger an idea. What I want to encourage the most is that you get together with fellow musicians and perform together.
