The Sacraments of Initiation complete:
- a journey of re-birth in Christ,
- commitment to a community of disciples.
Baptism, Confirmation and Communion:
Together these make up the Sacraments of Initiation.
At the age of 7/8, children complete their Initiation through the parish Sacramental Process in small family groups.
This process commences each year and is in three sequential stages.
- Confirmation August-September
- Reconciliation February-March (following year)
- Communion May-June (following year)
Families wishing to participate should note that acceptance into the process requires:
-That the child is baptised
-Parent attendance (pre-requisite)at the Enquiry-Information session (1 hr)
before the process begins,
-Compulsory attendance at the Parent formation (catechesis) session for each Sacrament,
and all registration sessions,
-Completion of Documentation before Enrolment session:
*Copy of Baptism Certificate
*Registration form
*Donation to cover expenses
Before presenting the children for the final sacraments of initiation, it is expected that the children will have:
-Attended Weekend Mass regularly with their family
-Participated in the special Sunday Rituals in the program
-Attended all the program sessions and rehearsals.
All children are encouraged to participate in Children's Liturgy on the 1st , 2nd, 4th Sundays of the Month at Sunday Mass: 9am at the church of St Cecilia or 9.30am at the church of St Kieran.
