mov_pubgroup1North Harbour has dug deep for men’s health by contributing a magnificent $5,000 in sponsorship to 11 parishioners taking part in this year’s Movember mo-growing event.

Organised by the recently formed Parish of North Harbour Men’s Group, the fun event drew outstanding support from the two churches, schools, workmates, family and friends over the 30 days of November.

All proceeds will now go to Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and Beyond Blue, a body dealing with depression in men.

Team captain Steve Andrew said the response to the inaugural event exceeded all expectations, with great support for the 11 Mo Bros.

Father Pete was the standout fund raiser, with his Clark Gable-style tash attracting $1,676 in sponsorship. On the novelty side, Will Camphin’s

Gentlemen, grow those mos! PDF Print E-mail

To mark Movember, the North Harbour Men's Group is organising a 'mo-growing' team for charity. We want every man ('Mo Bro') in the parish sporting a moustache during the 30 days of November, with all Non-Mo Bros, fellow Mo Bros – and 'Mo Sistas' - raising funds by sponsoring the effort.

Movember_2010_StyleGuideFather Pete will be doing his bit (ie, growing a mo), so join in the fun! All proceeds go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia – and Beyond Blue, a body dealing with depression in men.

Men's Breakfast

The first breakfast meeting of the new-look North Harbour Men's Group on October 16 drew an enthusiastic audience of more than 40 parishioners.

With the 'sistas' cooking up a storm with bacon, eggs and sausages, the 'bros' enjoyed a highly entertaining – and informative – talk by Greg St John and Steve Doepel on their launch of a similar men's group in Canberra.

Parish Men's Group PDF Print E-mail

greg_st_johnThe October 16th Men’s Breakfast will address the topic of “Men’s Groups”.

There is a desire to establish a Men’s Group in the parish with the aim of having a forum for men to be supported in their faith, parenting and partnering, and manhood.

The Breakfast will be addressed by two men who are actively involved in a Men’s Group in their parish.

The main speaker, Greg St John (right) will direct a process to allow those attending the breakfast to explore what they would hope to gain from a Parish Men’s Group.

Bookings for the Men’s Breakfast should be made through the parish office on 99494455.

A donation of $10 dollars will be asked for breakfast.

Any profit from the breakfast will go to support parish youth attending World Youth Day 2011.

Jacky Worthington (PPC Chair) will captain a crew to supply this breakfast and manage the kitchen at this function.

People who can assist Jacky and support our parish men should communicate with Jacky at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
