Social Justice—Ahmed Update |

Thank you to all who donated money over the last 12 months to support Ahmed while he awaits the outcome of his application for a humanitarian visa. In particular, thank you to the person who donated a very large amount of money anonymously to help Ahmed.
This was an amazing act of generosity. Thank you also to the person who has very kindly offered to house Ahmed temporarily upon his arrival if his application is successful. Having temporary accommodation is an essential component of the application for the humanitarian visa.
Ahmed’s application forms have now been submitted to the Department of Immigration and we hope Ahmed will be accepted on humanitarian grounds to settle in Australia. If successful, our role will be to welcome Ahmed, settle him into temporary accommodation and help link him into support services.
We will keep you posted — The Social Justice Group |

He has been assisted in Thailand by Fr John Murray OSA and he has also received financial support from this parish for which he thanks you sincerely.
At this point in time Ahmed and Fr John Murray are preparing the documentation for Ahmed’s bid to come and live in Australia.
He needs two further things in order to proceed with his application and these are;
1 A place of residence in Australia and
2 A job
