FIRST STEP:  INVITING THE LORD AND HIS SPIRIT

The leader asks a member of the group to invoke the presence of the Lord and his Spirit.

SECOND STEP:  READING THE TEXT

The leader points out the chapter and verses to be read. One member of the group reads the text aloud while others are listening. After the reading, the members are given the chance to observe a moment of silence. (1-2 minutes)

THIRD STEP:  READING THE TEXT THE SECOND TIME. (ABIDING WITH THE TEXT)

Another member of the group reads the text aloud. After the reading, the members are given the chance to observe a moment of silence. This time, the members are asked to say aloud a word or a sentence that is of special important to him or her. After each member says the word or sentence, there is a short moment of silence.  Each one can repeat interiorly two or three times the words that were spoken, allowing them to sink in. (No elaboration). Once all have spoken, the whole text is read again, the third time aloud and slowly.

FOURTH STEP:  READING THE TEXT THE THIRD TIME.

For the third time another member will read the text aloud and slowly. This time, the leader allows the members to keep silent letting them know how long the silence will be (2-4 minutes). This silence prepares  the participants to reflect together on the text and to pray the text.

FIFTH STEP:  SHARING WHAT HAS TOUCHED THEIR LIFE.

Participants are invited to share spontaneously what has touched them. This is the time to put together the words reflected upon the Scripture and the individual feelings and experiences of each participant. This is also the time to experience Christ calling us forth into doing or being. Members ask themselves what Christ in the text is calling them to do or to become today or this week.

SIXTH STEP: PRAYING TOGETHER.

The leader invites the group to pray. Participants respond with spontaneous prayers to God who has spoken to them through the text. The meeting may conclude with a song or prayer.
